Material Considerations
First, consider the material you’ll be baling. Pay special attention to the density and size. Volume and speed are important as well, so be sure the baler you choose will operate at a level that’s suitable for your growing operation.
Some high-output equipment cannot produce heavy bales, so they operate at a higher cost per hour. This leads to a production volume that isn’t cost-effective for transport. You’ll want to be aware of energy-efficient models for the same reason. It’s best to focus on the cost per baled ton while remembering to factor in operation and wire cost.
Square vs. Round
There are two main baler categories to pick from: square (or rectangular) and round. There’s a whole set of subcategories within each of these options, so take your time deciding.
