BTI Provides Local FFA Scholarship Opportunity to Deserving Students
INDIANAPOLIS May 2019/National FFA Organization – BTI is pleased to announce they are working with the National FFA Organization to award college scholarships to local FFA members. FFA and John Deere have a relationship more than 75 years strong. By supporting the scholarship program, John Deere hopes to identify and help develop future Deere and/or dealership employees and the next generation of community leaders.
BTI is sponsoring four $2,000 scholarships through the National FFA Scholarship program. These scholarships will provide financial aid to FFA members attending two or four year colleges. BTI's 2019 scholarships were awarded to:
- Alec Segarra of Hill City High School. Alec plans to pursue a degree in Agribusiness University of Nebraska at Kearney in the fall.
- Allison Dale of South Central High School. Allison plans to pursue a degree in Animal Science at Kansas State university in the fall. Allison also plans to attend Veterinary school after obtaining her Bachelors degree.
- Kami McComb of Skyline High School. Kami plans to attend Hutchinson Community College and major in Agricultural Communication and compete on the Livestock Judging team.
- Kayley Cook of Skyline High School. Kayley plans to go to Kansas State University and major in Agricultural Education.
In 2018, more than 1,800 scholarships worth more than $2.8 million were awarded to FFA members through the National FFA Scholarship program, with 120 sponsors participating in the program. This year, more than 6,000 students applied for these scholarships.
